Wood Be Beautiful Ltd is a family-run business with a story deeply rooted in passion, craftsmanship, and legacy. Founded by Pete Moss in the 1990s, Pete was a pioneer in the reclaimed oak flooring industry, importing exquisite oak from France. His dedication to his craft was evident in every floor he produced, bringing beauty and history into homes and buildings across the UK.

In 2012, we faced an immense loss when Pete passed away from cancer, leaving a void in both our family and the company. Pete’s spirit lived on through his son, Ben Moss, who had worked closely with him. Under Ben’s guidance, Wood Be Beautiful not only continued but flourished, evolving from salvaging reclaimed oak to manufacturing our own unique product, Bocage Oak. Bocage Oak has since become renowned for its unmatched quality and beauty in the flooring market.

However, tragedy struck again on March 12th, 2018, when Ben went missing during a scuba diving trip off Dover, exactly six years after his father’s death. This loss was another blow to our family and business. Yet, in the spirit of resilience and love for the craft, Ben’s wife Rosie and his brother Dan stepped up to carry forward the legacies of both Pete and Ben.

Now, six years later, Dan Moss leads Wood Be Beautiful Ltd, staying true to the visions of his father and brother. We continue to produce the much-loved Bocage Oak, which stands as a testament to Ben’s innovation, and have expanded our range to include Norman & Heritage Oak. These products are now part of our Rootline Certified range, which represents our commitment to quality, sustainability, and authenticity. Every piece of our premium solid French oak flooring is crafted on-site from locally sourced, wild oak, ensuring each board is not just a flooring choice but a piece of art, rich in character and style.
